Members Elect First Female President For MJOC
A new chapter is about to begin for the Melbourne Jeep Owners Club, with members electing the club’s first female president as MJOC heads towards its milestone 30th anniversary in 2027.
At the recent Melbourne Jeep Owners Club AGM, members elected Beckie Maiwald as president, marking an exciting new chapter for the club.
For Beckie, the role is all about one thing — the members.
With a focus on keeping the club fresh, inclusive and enjoyable, Beckie is keen to introduce some new ideas and refresh existing activities, including members’ meetings and other initiatives designed to deliver even more value and enjoyment for MJOC members.
Beckie is certainly no stranger to the club or the committee. She has served as MJOC Secretary for the past couple of years and is now looking forward to helping lead the club into its 30th year and making 2027 a celebration to remember.
Since joining MJOC in 2023, Beckie has thrown herself into club life. She quickly became a trip leader and has organised and led numerous trips throughout Victoria, sharing her passion for four-wheel driving and the great outdoors with fellow members.
Her contribution hasn't gone unnoticed. Beckie recently took home the prestigious John Jefferies Memorial Trip Leader of the Year Award — for the second time since joining the club.
And the Jeep passion doesn't stop with Beckie. Her husband, Simon, is also a member of the MJOC committee, making the couple a true Jeep-loving team.
Together, Beckie and Simon have an impressive Jeep stable, including a classic modified WJ Grand Cherokee, a WK2 Grand Cherokee and a modified JK Wrangler Unlimited.

Beckie’s commitment to MJOC goes well beyond attending trips. She has actively developed her skills through the club’s training programs and is always keen to learn, contribute and help others enjoy four-wheel driving safely and confidently.

With her experience, enthusiasm and strong connection with the membership, Beckie is looking forward to bringing her own energy and ideas to the presidency.
As MJOC approaches its 30th anniversary in 2027, there’s plenty to look forward to — and with Beckie at the helm, the club is set for an exciting new era.
