The Melbourne Jeep Owners Club (MJOC) offers an exciting way to explore the outdoors and master your vehicle's capabilities. We host numerous 4WD trips and provide comprehensive training to help Jeep owners get the most out of their vehicles.

We understand that joining a club might seem daunting, and many prospective members share these initial reservations. However, countless individuals who decided to "try us out" are now long-standing members, enjoying the camaraderie and adventures our club provides.

Every one of our trips is rated to match various driver skill levels and vehicle setups. This ensures a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. All trips are meticulously organized and led by our team of trained trip leaders.

Considering these benefits, joining the MJOC is an excellent way to enhance your off-roading experience and connect with a passionate community.

MJOC Code of Ethics

MJOC Members follow our Code of Ethics to ensure we do the right thing when out in the bush, We need to care for the bush and look after it so we can continue to use it and have access for our kids and grand kids well into the future.

  1. Protect and respect the public image of the club
  2. Drive in a safe and responsible manner by only driving on formed tracks and in approved, permitted areas
  3. Follow and respect safe driving and recovery protocols
  4. Care for the environment by avoiding sensitive areas to protect them for use by future generations
  5. Avoid damaging tracks by minimising excessive wheel spin which creates deeper holes and ruts
  6. Leave no trace of your visit – by leaving places, picnic spots and camp sites cleaner than you found them
  7. Respect the rights, peace and solitude of other recreational users
  8. When driving in or visiting cultural, heritage or environmental areas take care to protect and respect them and abide by any applicable laws or regulations
  9. Extinguish campfires with water until cold and follow all fire restrictions
  10. Respect the club Trip Leader and club convoy procedures

The MJOC Training Program

 

The MJOC Driver Training Program is regarded as one of the best Jeep 4WD training programs and is designed to not only teach you the techniques necessary to develop a proficient level of skill and experience, but you’ll also learn how to drive off-road without causing damage or undue stress to your vehicle and the environment, so you get home safely.

It is also vital that all drivers going on a on a MJOC 4WD trip have a consistent level of driving and recovery skills to suit the conditions likely to be encountered.

All our members recieve free training that prepares them for the Jeeping advintures that all our members enjoy/

Congratulations on your new Jeep! Whether it's a seasoned veteran or fresh off the lot, we know you're eager to get it out there and experience what it can really do.

The Melbourne Jeep Owners Club (MJOC) is the perfect place to extend your Jeep experience the right way. We can help you understand all the technology in your vehicle and teach you how to use it to its full potential. Then, once you're confident, you can join us on an MJOC Jeep Club Trip and truly have some fun!

Advice for New jeepers.

Watch the 'Off Roading 101" video from Brad at Trail Recon in California. Brad shows how to get started if you are new to 4WD action and he offers similar advice as MJOC on what to do as a first time Jeeper with your new Jeep.  Just remember some terminology and products are US based. The Ultimate Desert Adventure

 

Melbourne Jeep Owners Club run trips all over Australia. As well as our great state of Victoria.

Melbourne Jeep Owners Club (MJOC) are outback right now on the greatest overlanding trip we have ever done. Australian Geographic says there are 10 named deserts in Australia. and on this trip we will cross all of those deserts. The Simpson, Canning Stock Route, and everthing in between. Check out our YouTube channel and socials for the latest video updates.

This adventurous trip is planned to tackle almost every iconic desert destination in the country and it is all being done in our Jeeps. The trip is planned in segments to enable members to do all sections or just some depending on personal holiday schedules.

MJOC Club Permit Scheme

As a benefit to members the club offers the VicRoads Club Permit Scheme (CPS) for members who own a vehicle that is more than 25 years old and is in a roadworthy condition. The Permit allows for either 45 or 90 days of use per year

The Club has Policies and Procedures in place, which deal with how the Club
Permit Scheme runs within our Club and considers members obligations and compliance with Vicroads rules and regulations.

To ensure members understand the above responsibility and the Vicroads Log Book system, on application members sign and undergo a written contractual agreement to follow the policies and procedures of the MJOC CPS which includes taking responsibility for any possible modifications and maintaining the vehicle in roadworthy condition.

MJOC Supporting the Community

Our members love getting involved in the community by supporting organisations such as Four Wheel Drive Victoria and Blaze Aid with volunteer support for emergency relief, bush fire and flood assistance.
We help out with delivering supplies to victims, removal of damaged fencing and infrastructure, re-building fences and cleaning up debris. We also support Parks Victoria and DEECA with volunteer projects such as track clearing, bush cleanups, rubbish removal and camp hosting.
We are members of the Victorian High Country Huts Association and manage the maintenance of three high country huts, Kepells Hut, 15 Mile Hut, and Ritchies Hut.
We are supporters of Narbeview  Wildlife Refuge at Buxton who are one of our charity groups we raise funds for as well as doing many hours of volunteer work doing maintenance and other projects.
